Our friends and partners
The Estonian Culture Guide is set up as a result of co-operation between several cultural organisations, cultural managers, and IT developers.
The idea to create a database of Estonian cultural operators emerged from the shared needs of the Cultural Contact Point Estonia and Estonian Institute. On one hand, CCP Estonia, the information desk for the EU Culture Programme, frequently received information request about the organisation of the cultural sector in Estonia as well as requests to find suitable partners for pan-European projects. On the other hand, the Estonian Institute had long planned to complement the existing calendar of cultural events (www.culture.ee) with a website that would provide more structural information about the Estonian cultural world.
The Estonian Ministry of Culture has supported the ECG both financially and with introductory texts that describe the organisational structure of different cultural sectors in Estonia, the basic tenets of cultural policies and financing. The Culture Programme of the European Union has supported setting up the database. We also wish to thank a number of independent experts who have assisted us in writing the introductory texts about cultural sectors.
Information about organisations presented in the Guide has been partly provided by such information centres as the Estonian Theatre Agency, Estonian Film Foundation and others.
The IT platform of the Guide is based on Estonian software (Automatweb), graphic design and application design is made by Ore Multimedia. ![]()
