Welcome to the test version of the Estonian Culture Guide!
A Gateway to Estonian culture
The Estonian Culture Guide is simultaneously a directory of cultural operators with short commentaries about the listed organisations and a guide helping you to find your way on the Estonian cultural landscape. As of April 2009, it contains contacts for more than 2000 Estonian cultural organisations and institutions; at this point only a selection of the organisations and their activities have been described in more details. The Guide also comprises links to different documents and Internet resources dealing with cultural issues.
The Guide will also be constantly updated with texts that describe the structure of different cultural sectors in Estonia – information on public policies, funding opportunities, most important institutions, education etc.
A source of knowledge
Who should I turn to if I need information about contemporary Estonian arts or how to make traditional folk costumes? Where do I find the establishments providing further education in music? Which institutions formulate and carry out cultural policies? Where should I apply for grants or seek for co-operation partners? The Guide intends to become a gateway to the Estonian cultural world both for Estonian and foreign seekers of information and cultural managers.
The users of the Guide can set up their own notebook of necessary contacts. You can also join thematic mailing list that distribute information about most important funding opportunities, project partners, etc. in a particular cultural sector.
Since the Estonian Culture Guide is still in its development phase, all additions, proposals, and commentaries are welcome. Please send your feedback to the e-mail aadress ekt@einst.ee or call us at the Estonian Institute on +372 63 14 355.
